UNEARTHING IDENTITY

Working with creatives, brands and publications across the world, I create beautiful visual content to unearth, align and authentically reflect identity, inspiring meaningful connection at each meeting point.

Through freelance photography, art-direction and design, I seek to create authentic reflections of identity and gently dissolve the boundary between a brand and its audience.

I work in close collaboration to unearth a deep understanding of a client’s ethos and aspirations, aligning their visuals with their values through timeless aesthetic consideration and creative guidance.

Through a creative and multidisciplinary approach, my services include digital and film photography, graphic design (for branding, packaging, websites and social media), food styling, videography, and creative consultancy to unearth, unify, and sensitively reflect a client’s authentic identity.

Sati Design's serene jewellery collection, beautifully handcrafted from recycled metals, embodies timeless simplicity. Claire's mindful approach fosters harmony, reflecting in each piece. My short film unveils the 'Eclipse' Collection, presenting lunar-inspired aesthetics and the creative process. It captures Claire's technique mirroring the moon's phases, creating unique textures as metal transitions. The film highlights the moon's energy and the allure of new beginnings, emphasizing the craftsmanship behind each piece.

Located in Cornwall, Caradon Stone specializes in supplying exquisite, locally sourced natural stone extracted from ancient quarries on Bodmin Moor—quarries that have historically provided the building blocks for iconic structures in London, such as Tower Bridge. Granite is their specialty, a stone steeped in the history and heritage of Cornwall, embodying its industrial legacy and serving as a foundational element.

In early 2024, I photographed the work of Pacha Design, woodworkers of exquisite furniture and objects displayed in their showroom 'Flower Bird Wind Moon'. Their philosophy centres on simplicity and a profound reverence for materials, seamlessly merging clean aesthetics with the Japanese wabi-sabi principle of finding beauty in imperfection. Mindful and intentional, their creations mirror a commitment to authenticity. Their space presents a tranquil and minimalist ambience, showcasing a curated collection of their own handcrafted furniture and objects, as well as carefully chosen pieces from other conscientious artisans and creatives.

Neighbourhood Learning, established in 2023, fosters exploration and collaboration, believing education thrives when shared. The project aimed to defy norms, catering to the older demographic with bold, nostalgic designs inspired by the '60s and '70s. Rejecting corporate blandness, it embraced Brutalist clarity, featuring playful doodles, vibrant colours, and bold fonts. The branding I designed, inclusive of simple logos and brand guidelines, aimed to awaken and excite while maintaining functionality. Designed to provoke and challenge perceptions, it celebrated the joy of learning in beautifully simple yet vivid ways.

Located close to Carbis Bay, lies the Bamboo House. A beautifully considered space, and studio home that I photographed in early 2024. A stunning contemporary architectural and interior design with an open-plan structure of wood beam vaulted ceilings, softly pigmented lime plaster walls, and rough organic fabrics.

45 Queen Street Kitchen/Bar is famed for its seasonal fare, sourced sustainably and authentically. The space exudes industrial charm, with exposed breeze block and steel beams enhancing its style. A labor of love for owners Hannah and Sam, this multifaceted establishment—Kitchen/Bar/Deli/Event Space—evolves continually. Its ever-changing menu reflects a commitment to sustainability, minimizing waste without compromising quality or presentation. Sustainability and kindness form the bedrock of 45 Queen Street, evident in the visuals I have photographed and documented over the years, capturing its essence and ethos

THE STUDIO / ALEXANDRA HOUSE

A Grade 2 Late-Georgian Townhouse located in the centre of Truro, Alexandra House is a home for more than just living. Currently under renovation, Alexandra House will become a dual creative studio space and professional kitchen, soon to be available for hire by clients and fellow creatives.

With a background in studying History of Art and a long standing love for architecture, this project encompasses my deep appreciation for the manifestation of art in its many forms. Having moved to Alexandra House in 2021, I began renovations in 2023 to showcase its stunning Georgian interior details.

Due for completion in 2027 / 2028 this beautiful interior space will soon be available to house photoshoots and small, intimate events including supper clubs, nurturing the creative potential within its walls.

“Professional, calm and approachable. Ali is a joy to work with. She’s super creative and possesses a real art in capturing and utilising natural light, giving true beauty to her work. She has been utterly supportive in our new start-up venture, and we look forward to lots more work together”.
